Don't get sick, guys. It's not fun.
There's something going around, and I don't recommend catching it. It knocked me flat on my ass this week.
So here are some pointers to avoid catching this summer's cold:
1. WASH YOUR HANDS!
I know this should go without saying, but I'm serious. If your hands are cracked and dry because you're washing them so much, you're still not washing them enough. Every time you touch a doorknob or a telephone, shake hands with someone. WASH YOUR HANDS.
2. Take Vitamin C regularly.
Whether it's orange juice, Vitamin C pills, Airborne, whatever.
I didn't do this. No one expects to get sick in the middle of the summer. People associate colds with wintertime. And that's why summer colds are the worst.
3. Don't touch anything!
I know this one is pretty irrational, but you're really better off just putting your hands in your pockets and not touching anything, ever.
4. Don't breathe.
Again, irrational and impractical, but if you don't breathe, then you don't get the germs that make you sick, right? Right.
Okay, so not all of this post was useful or even entertaining. I'm really just bent out of shape about being so sick this week and having to take a day off from work, and being sick on my days off.
Moral of the story: Don't be a victim of the summertime flu.
My allergies have been INSANE lately. I can't go for long without having to blow my nose or sneeze my brain out.
ReplyDeleteICK. Allergies need to go die.
DeleteI'm gonna be really hipster right now and say I caught this flu weeks ago. ;)
ReplyDeleteFeel better.
Then I'm going to be forced to be really pretentious and say it was my strong immune system fending it off. Yours was just too weak to resist as long as mine. ;)
DeleteAnd I do feel better. Mostly. Except for a really nasty cough.
So far I've good, only catching a bit of hoodie!boy's cough. The bad news? He still has it, and I'm about two weeks behind him. We feel fine... just will randomly cough like crazy.
ReplyDeleteOMG THE COUGH. I've got it already. It's so awful, you guys.
